    Testing the reflectivity of clothing and road signs according to European standards

    We test the light-reflecting properties of materials in accordance with European standards: high-visibility clothing in accordance with DSTU EN 20471 and road signs in accordance with EN 12899. Testing is carried out in accordance with current requirements for personal protective equipment (PPE), workwear, and road signs. The EN 20471 standard establishes requirements for high-visibility clothing designed to make workers visible in all visibility conditions, day and night, especially in artificial lighting and under car headlights.

    Standard EN 12899-1 specifies the materials, construction, retroreflective characteristics, colors, and performance properties that road signs must have to ensure their visibility, durability, and road safety.

    • Reflective elements of workwear, vests, uniforms;
    • Road and information signs with fluorescent and retroreflective materials;
    • Ribbons, stickers, markings, other safety elements.
    • – Confirmation of product compliance with European standards and certification;
    • – Ensuring employee safety during nighttime hours or in conditions of poor visibility;
    • – As a mandatory requirement for export to the EU or participation in tenders;
    • – Increasing trust in the brand and product quality.

      (EN 12899-1:2007, IDT) Vertical stationary road signs.

    In the sphere of testing the light-reflecting capacity of clothing and road signs, regulatory control is based on European standards, as well as — in the case of work in Ukraine — on state (DSTU) standards harmonized with European ones.
